Doing the camel this way
Doing the camel this way actually does not have much movement at all in the lower back, it is being performed mainly with the thoracic spine. Try performing the exercise without moving the thoracic spine at all and have the lower back completely isolated. The movement is not a dramatic one and performed using a slight tilt of the pelvis.
