Question:

What has been your best sporting moment?

Hi.

I haven't been a member of Peak Performance for long so I'm sorry if I am repeating a question or if I am asking an inappropriate question. But with the gloomy weather and all the depressing news about the credit crunch I wanted to spread a bit of positivity.

I was wondering if you could tell me what your best sporting moment has been, is there a moment an event, that you will always remember, that gets you out of bed in the morning? It would be really inspiring to hear everyone's thoughts.

Thanks

Corinne

hello corrine

on a personal note, i would have to say getting my black belt grading in jujitsu. i intend to re-start martial arts by taking up judo and would love to compete.

from an elitist perspective, i have many. I am more of a sports fan than any one team or athlete. I do follow Saint Helens rugby league team, so i would have to say any good friday... when we get to batter wigan lol.

what do you do then ?? what brought you to this site ??

I must agree with scousemouse78, only I acheived my black belt in Karate, about 2 years ago when I was 13, it was the best feeling in the world. Since then I have competed in many competitions and normally come first or third. :D

I must confess though that I am a Wigan Warriors fan, and we have beat St Helens more times on Good Friday then they beat us.

My most recent favourate achievement was last friday (28/11/08)
when I was playing basketball with my team and became the first 15 year old to double handed dunk the ball, in our centre ever- for the under 19's leaugue. The whole place just kinda froze including the other match that was playing, when my team started screaming at me to go for it on the fats break. I've never felt so good in basketball and so many people were congratulating me that it took me about 20 minutes to leave after the match.

Black belt KAJUKENBO, 251:05 marathon; no hit ballgame, all long ago - now just trying to stay healthy and fit and keep weight off & stay as strong and flexible as I can, also to try something new as often as I can. Now am focusing on flexibility and arm, leg, core & upper body strength plus punching & kicking power & sprint bike training & inverted crunches. Nedd help in keeping knees, lower back, rotator cuff and hamstrings healthy and pain free and flexible. Also to keep weight off & maybe lose 10.

No doubt in my mind about my best achievement. I was 18 years old, dominating the under 20's category and fighting seniors too being a major competitor but never winning.

I fought the Junior African Championships the Friday, got heavily cheated by referees because of what happened the previous year. came in 5th place that year. I picked up a groin injury 2 days before fighting. Decided I'm going to give under 20's South African Championships a skip, go home, recover and come back the following Friday to fight Senior Mens SA Champs.

I fought 2 major internationals, 1 South African and got to the finals comfortably. On the other side of the pool was a guy from Guinnee (North Africa but training in france) who was destroying our top fighters, total domination.

Got to the final fight against him, and beat him in 43seconds. I had never fought that well in my life before.
