Hello there. Despite being a middle distance fan i have never heard of this athlete. I am sure if you went on google and search his name and what you are looking for you will come up with some of his articles. Do you know if theywere published ?? Only as if they were not, then it wont be available.
good luck, Chris

Chris,
Shame on you for not knowing about Steve Prefontaine. You may be a middle distance fan but your youth is no excuse for being a poor student of athletics history.
Steve Prefontaine was an iconic US middle distance runner of the early 1970's. US record holder he came 4th in the 1972 Olympic 5000m final won by the legendary Lasse Viren. He died a young man in 1975 following a car crash. The film of his life "Prefontaine" has been shown on television and is occasionally repeated.
He was coached by Bill Bowerman at the University of Oregon so you may find some material about training through that source-I recall a training manual authored by Bowerman- but I doubt that a 1970's programme would be superior to current training methods.
