Question:
Is low level "same sport" the best method for active recovery?
I find it hard to get on my bike but keep the intensity low enough for active recovery, especially when I plan for the entire week to be a recovery period. I'm continuing my light resistance sessions (twice a week) and pilates in the evenings, but rather than any bike sessions I'm doing a brisk 30 minute walk instead. Is this effective, or is it likely to be such a different activity that I go over my target "zone" of intensity?

Active recovery is basically low level aerobic activity to allow the body to consume oxygen and eliminate lactate and other waste products. Walking is fine and try and do more stretching to maintain/ develop your muscles and joint range of movement.
